In contrast to other many online payment processors, Moneybookers requires identity verification before using their service to minimize fraud risk and prevent money stealing. Does it mean that this payment gateway is really safe for online purchases? Then why more business owners and also custoemrs prefer payment via Paypal?

Paypal is always the first choice of most people and you can purchase more stuff around the internet with it.
Moneybookers is a suitable alternative for some countries that still cannot use Paypal.
Paypal is more popular because is easier and it is the preferred payment option for eBay, plus it is been around longer than Moneybookers.
Paypal is more reliable in my opinion, read my topic how MB cheated me for hundreds of dollars.
